The Colosseum

Another name of Colosseum is Coliseum. This is an old stadium which was constructed in Rome by the Roman Empire. This construction is considered to be the biggest construction during the Rome Empire. It is also considered to be a great accomplishment of Roman structural design. The Roman ruler Vespasian constructed this design at 70 AD. However it was completed during the time of other emperor. His name was Titus. This stadium was generally used to organize various types of civic actions like gladiator events. They also used that stadium to handle various other sports like ridicule marine fights, implementation plus animal chases etc. Those people used that stadium for various other purposes. Some examples are seminars and fortifications.

However this stadium was badly affected because of earthquakes and various other natural disasters. Some robbers had taken away various types of stones from it. In spite of all these hurdles, this place is still one of the most memorable monuments of ancient Rome. There are various other places in the surrounding areas which are creates attraction. One such place is a practice area for the gladiators. Another such place is called as Armamentarium. The innovative thing of this stadium was the breezy arrangement. It was designed intelligently at that time. People who were sitting within the stadium never felt hot there. In this place people used to stock up the weapons. Nowadays people are using Colosseum for holy purposes. There are various types of plants in Colosseum. After a proper research, it was found that there are at least 600 types of plants are available in Colosseum. The authorities have tried a lot to remove all these plants because it can spoil the structural design but they have not succeeded. This place is one of the best tourist spot of the world.

The Great Wall of China

The Great Wall of China is a midpoint attraction for any tourist if he is visiting to Beijing, China. Generally people do not have idea that what the total length of this wall is. This wall was constructed in Northern China and the total length of this wall is 6400km. The entire construction contains various types of towers and garrisons. The construction of this great wall was started approximately 5th century BC. However the current construction of the wall was constructed around 220BC. It was the first emperor of China who contributed a lot for the present creation. His name was Qin Shi Huangdi. He ordered to link all those walls that were already constructed by the Kings of individual areas. After completing the linkage sections, it was further extended towards the north direction. Different people of territorial armies as well as peasants spent a major part of their life for the construction of this wall. The construction of this wall was absolutely not easy because they have to lift up heavy stones from ground to the upper section. Moreover they also have to arrange for the new stones. The site of Badaling is the most famous area to watch this Great wall because the site seeing areas are great and the facilities for tourists are wonderful. You can also view tremendous sites including the mountain region from a place called Simatai. It is about 110km from Beijing. The Great Wall of China is one of the fabulous structures to view. This wall is so large by the length that it is clearly noticeable from moon. The purpose of this wall was to protect the state from enemies. At that time soldiers were using beacon towers in that wall to deliver messages. You should not miss it if you are going to Beijing.

Giza’s Great Pyramid

The Great Pyramid of Giza also known as Pyramid of Khufu was fourth reign Pharaoh Kufu of Egypt. This pyramid is the ancient and the biggest known pyramids located in El Giza. It took almost 20 years to finish this pyramid. It was around 2551 BC when it was completed. It is also known as the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the World. After the completion, it was the tallest construction completed by man and it remained for more than 3800 years. In the innovative structure, the pyramid is in even form the outer section because it is covered by stone. However after the passage of time there are some changes in that but the shape of pyramid is as it is. It is believed that the great pyramid is made with the help of 2.3 million limestone chunks. The latitude of this wonderful construction is 30 degrees towards the north. This pyramid of Giza is visible from many parts of the town. It is still a mystery that how people made an awesome structure at that time when the technology was not that much advanced like present. It is believed that the weight of each stone block is of 2.3 tons. The overall weight of the great pyramid is more than 6 million tons. The triangular arrangement is more or less all right but the other sections of the pyramid looks like affected by rainwater and sunbeams. If we go to the inner compartments of the pyramid then we will find them very interesting. The temperature is very high and the walking sections are not easy to understand. Within the pyramid there are diverse committal compartments of king as well as queen. There are tombs from where people have stolen the things centuries before. People believe that it was built in the between the era of 2589-2566 BC.

The Taj Mahal

The Taj Mahal is a catacomb built in Agra, India by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the loving remembrance of his spouse, Mumtaz. It is the finest example of Mughal era architecture. The Taj Mahal is a wonderful example of the amalgamation of three architectural techniques. These are Indian, Islamic and Persian. It is a combination of incorporated intricate of constructions. Shah Jahan started the construction of this monument in the year 1632 and it was finished in the year 1653. There were thousands of craftsmen and artisans who were engaged to design the structure. There were three architects who were appointed to design the structure. Their names are Ustad Ahmed Lahauri, Abdul Karim Khan and Makramat Khan. However Ustad Ahmed Lahauri was considered the main designer of the structure.

In the year 1631, the third wife of Mughal Emperor Mumtaz died during the birth of a child. Mughal Emperor decided to prepare a monument in the loving memory of his wife. He ordered to start the construction in the year 1632 which is one year later after his wife’s death. After looking on to the monument, we will see that the main focal point is the tomb section. The finial section was made of gold but later on reinstated by bronze in 19th century. The top section of finial consists of a moon which is the symbol of Muslim tradition. The upper section of the moon resembles to the symbol of Hindu Lord ‘Shiva’. The base section of The Taj Mahal is like a Persian architecture. Mughal Emperor used white marble stone in every section of the construction. The beauty of this marvelous architecture is not comparable to any structure of the world. The total cost of construction was 32 million Rupees in the year of 1948 and about a team of twenty thousand people constructed it.
